If high gas prices have gotten you down you need to check out this website. GasBuddy.com shows a map of North America and you click on your state. It then takes you to another website based on what you clicked that is ran by GasBuddy.com. In my case I was taken to Indygasprices.com for Indianapolis which is where I'm headed soon. This is definently good information and something everyone should bookmark and particapate in.

Flock Beta 0.7 is Out There

Flock emailed me today to let me know their new beta is ready for download. I had forgotten that I had even signed up. Obviously I did. If you didn't know:
Flock is a free web browser that makes it easier than ever to share photos, stay up-to-date with news from your favorite sites, and search the Web. Take our tour to learn what's different about Flock, then download the beta to get started - and please tell us what you think.

Basically it's the Web 2.0 browser of the future. The email went like this:
Greetings!

Early pioneers, you are receiving this note because you signed up for notification of Flock updates way back when. Since then we haven't notified you of any updates. After many months of hard work, here we are, letting you know that...the Flock Beta is finally here!

So, we imagine you might have one of the following reactions below:

A) Ohmigod! This is great news! Where can I get it???
B) Flock, they're still around? Lemmie see what they are up to.
C) Stop bothering me.

If you answered "C", please accept our apology and click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of this email. Everyone else, please read below:

Flock, the company, launched to a lot of press coverage (some might even say hype) last October, at a time when our product was in developer preview and not quite ready for everyday use. Since then, we have spent a lot of time listening to people and figuring out how to make a better browser.

Here is Bart's summary on the release from his recent blog post: "For this release, and for at least the next year or so, we are primarily focused on supporting the social dimension of the web, and on bringing information closer to the user. Right now this includes a heavy emphasis on the photo experience (from upload through discovery to notification), RSS support, dramatic improvements to the search box (including a new take on favorites), and blogging."

While there is a lot of work ahead of us, we are really proud of what the team has done and are eager to get your feedback. Please let us know what you think - try Flock by downloading it at http://www.flock.com/download.

Kind regards,

The Flock Team

P.S. Make sure to check out the Flock Blog to stay current on the latest happenings at Flock.

OS X Home Folder for 'My Documents' Under Parallels and Windows

Techpedia has an article about how to set up your OS X home folder as your My Documents folder in Windows using Parallels and Bonjour. I'm not sure I would like to do this myself since I would not want to corrupt any of my files in OS X with a virus. Even though OS X may be exempt from viruses getting one in windows under Parallels whilst using Windows could still jack up them files and render them useless.

From Techpedia:

One of the features of Parallels is the option to share a folder between Windows and your Mac. However, it is quite slow and bulky. The tutorial below, however, shows you how to harness the native sharing prowess of both Windows and your Mac, making for much faster and more reliable document sharing.

Mac OS X 10.4.7 Update Not Complete?

AppleInsider is reporting that the recently released 10.4.7 update for Macintosh OS X was not complete. An email from Apple states:

"The install package that upgrades a Mac OS X v10.4.6 (Intel) system is being revised. The revision is to provide several files related to OpenGL performance that were missing.

Only the package that upgrades a Mac OS X v10.4.6 (Intel) system to Mac OS X v10.4.7 (Intel) is being changed, Apple said. All other Mac OS X v10.4.7 install packages remain unchanged.

So far, the revised updater has not appeared on Apple's Web site or through Software Update. The company said the new package will bear the name MacOSXUpd10.4.7Intel.dmg and carry an SHA1 checksum of "10aa57dfccd63accb0939a894cea202a8910fb45."

Hopefully we all will not have to download another 100+ MB update and they will release only the files that were left out. Supposedly this does not affect any security fixes.

Make Money with Adsense

I've been reading up a lot on how to make money with Google AdSense. One of the things I have come across over and over is something that kind of surprised me. Are you ready for a free tip? You should make your ads blend in with your website as much as possible. Some might think you should make the ads stand out to make people click on them, however scientific* studies have shown that with adsense you get more click throughs if the ad blends with your content. Don't take my work for it though. Make your ads a little more appealing and keep tabs on your adsense click throughs.

99c Blockbuster Coupon

Print this out and hurry down to your local Blockbuster to rent any movie for 99 cents. Even new releases. How sweet is that? I guess if it were a free movie rental that would be sweeter.
